Hello and welcome! My name is Jennifer and I am a Certified Mold Inspector from the International Association of Certified Mold Inspectors. My coursework includes How To Perform Mold Inspections, Advanced Mold Inspection Training, How To Inspect For Moisture Intrusion, How To Inspect the Exterior, Residential Plumbing Overview, and Indoor Air Quality.
Continuing education is key to staying on top of best practices and new products and this is something I do regularly. Recent continuing education includes the Mold Masterclass.
I am currently enrolled in the Professional Home Inspection Institute’s Certified Residential Mold Inspector and Mold Remediation programs as part of my Continuing Education Units from the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC).
I am also a member of the International Society for Environmentally Acquired Illness. My earlier years afforded me the opportunity to graduate with honors with a Bachelor’s Degree in Ethnic Studies. I am a lifetime member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and Golden Key Honor Society.
Why Mold?
I wasn’t always a certified mold inspector. My daughter and I lost every single thing we owned in December 2014 due to a mold and mycotoxin contaminated home. You can learn more about my story here.
After that experience I vowed to help others so they would not have to go to the extremes I went through. As part of my personal experience, I also learned just how much misinformation there was online about mold, mold removal and mold prevention. So I became a certified mold inspector with a focus on mold prevention. My goal is to offer straightforward, digestible information for people in all types of mold situations.
