WHY 

MOLD?

WHY DOES MY WASHING MACHINE HAVE MOLD? Simple. Mold loves moisture. Mold loves rubber. Mold loves debris. And mold loves laundry detergent due to its plant-based (and even animal or synthetic) components. It’s dark, damp, and full of food. A washing machine is a mold’s paradise!

TIPS

on PREVENTION

Preventing mold in a front load or top load washing machine is really easy! It just takes time after you wash a load of laundry Leave the top lid or front-load door open between washes Open a detergent drawer or remove it to let it drip dry Remove wet clothes immediately after a wash.

For Top Loader:

Cleaning:

Fill the machine with warm water & open lid

Add EC3 laundry additive

Let sit then complete cycle

When done spray basin with EC3 mold solution

For  Front Loader:

Spray the entire basin with EC3 mold solution

Allow to air dry

Add white vinegar directly into the wash drum.

Run a wash cycle using the hottest water setting

Add EC3 laundry additive

Run another cycle then finish with EC3 Mold  Solution

DETERGENT

DRAWER

CLEANING:

1 | Remove the detergent drawer.

2 | Remove the inserts from the dispenser drawer.

3 | Fill your sink with hot water & vinegar.

4 | Soak the detergent drawer in the sink for 30 minutes.

4 | Spray with EC3 mold solution spray then allow to air dry.

WASHER

GASKET

Cleaning :

This is going to take some elbow grease so be ready!

1 | Check the gasket folds by turning it outward so you can see the full gasket inside and out. 2 | Remove any foreign substances on or in the gasket. 3 | Sprinkle baking soda inside that gasket.  4 | Pour vinegar inside the gasket and allow it to bubble 5 | Using an old toothbrush, scrub those areas with  mold growth. 6 | Once you have loosed all the mold, take another wet rag and clean out all the debris. 7 | Spray it thoroughly with EC3 mold solution. 8 | Allow to air dry with the door open. Be sure to wipe the inside of the door down as well.
